On Wednesday, June 22nd, the Andrew L. Hicks, Jr. Foundation sponsored a Philadelphia Union Pep Rally at Memorial Park in Chester. Over 50 Chester children and some Chester adults were joined by 50 West Chester families, creating a group of 275 people who together enjoyed live entertainment by Chosen Dance Company and Monster Squad. Both are hip hop dance groups from Philadelphia. The crowd also enjoyed a live performance by Kollective Dance, a Chester all-female dance company. The children were able to play on a soccer moon bounce while Stadium Grille catered the event with burgers and chicken!
The crowd gathered behind an Andrew L. Hicks, Jr. Foundation banner and received a police motorcycle escort to PPL park where they watched a fantastic Philadelphia Union soccer match against Kansas City Sporting. The event was the senior project of Braden Garrison and Josh McGonagle. The event was a great success as each West Chester family embraced a Chester child or family and friendships were formed. Families quickly came together to get to know each other while the children enjoyed the games and fun together.
