After returning from his summer mission week at the Frederick Douglass Christian School in Chester, Andrew shared with his mom that although the school had a beautiful gymnasium, there was almost no physical education equipment for the children to use. With this in mind, the Foundation organized a Gym Supplies Drive in September to benefit the children. Besides a $1,000 generous donation earmarked for physical education supplies which came through the Foundation, many, many soccer balls, basketballs, footballs, kickballs, hula hoops, tennis racquets, cones, and jumpropes were donated for use at the school and the 9th Street Community and Youth Center in Chester.
In November, 2010 the West Chester Area School District Elementary Physical Education Staff donated a $600 credit to be used towards brand new physical education equipment at the Frederick Douglass Christian School. The Principal at the school is reviewing a catalog and will have the opportunity to choose those items that she believes the children will most enjoy. Those pieces of equipment should arrive before Christmas.
