Bounce U 6/26/13
Hats off to HHS Juniors Alex Gomez and Donovan Gangewere who organized an event for 1st through 4th graders from Chester, PA at Bounce U in Exton, PA on Wednesday, June 26th. The Foundation encourages high school students to take something that they are very passionate about and turn it into an event that they can share with Chester children. Although the Foundation is willing to make substantial contributions towards the creation, funding, organization and execution of the event, these boys did almost all of the work themselves.
Alex and Donovan are employees at Bounce U and they spoke with their bosses Ian and Diane McCormick, who generously offered to sponsor the entire event, including the pizza! The Chester children were treated to a few hours of endless jumping and sliding on gigantic inflatable equipment. Each had a high school volunteer as his or her big buddy. The pairs used up all of their energy tirelessly moving from one area to another.
After pizza and cookies everyone rode over to Albert C. Miller Park in Exton for some outdoor time. The group had full use of the space and used it for basketball, rock climbing, kick ball, jump roping, parachute games and face painting.
It was a gorgeous day and a terrific way to kick off summer.
